Sunday Hi-Fi illustration, with a commission I did a while ago, the Rotel RCD-965BX! Truth is I never heard about this brand at all prior to this work, but apparently, this is an old Japanese brand responsible for good quality audio and video products, and this compact disc player was no exception!
Yet another one of the ES series stack I made a while ago, this time with the Sony CDP-X77ES compact disc player! It maintains those same beautiful lines from the prior ones, black mate color with the wooden sides, a great machine from a time the CD format was blooming into the scene!
The Sony CDP-101 (1982-1985) The world’s first commercially released compact disc player. Released in Japan on October 1st, 1982. Launched worldwide in March 1983. List price was 168,000 yen (approximately US$730).
Promo tape for the DVIX format. (1998) There encrypted DVDs that would only work for 48hrs after its first play. If you wanted to watch it again you have to buy a another 48hr or unlimited play license for each disc. It failed in its first year.
